We Love Sounds 2008

Originating in the UK All Tomorrow's Parties Festival (ATP) will arrive in Australia for the first time in January 2009.

Named after the Velvet Underground song and described as the 'ultimate mix tape', All Tomorrow's Parties is a boutique festival that goes against the grain of the larger, more commercial music festivals. Each new All Tomorrow's Parties invites an artist or band to head line and then handpick their favourite performers to play at the festival.

For the inaugural Australian ATP NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS are to make their curating debut. As well as headlining, the Bad Seeds intimate knowledge of all things Australian, coupled with their innate sense of the weird and wonderful will make for a series of very unique events.

NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS, have handpicked their favourite performers to join them which include THE SAINTS, SPIRITUALIZED, JAMES BLOOD ULMER (US), HARMONIA (Ger), FUCK BUTTONS (UK), SILVER APPLES (UK), BRIDEZILLA and THE NECKS amongst others which will ensure a whole new experience for festival goers.

In VIC ATP is to be held over 2 days, Jan 9th - 10th at the Mt. Buller Ski Resort less than 3 yrs drive from Melbourne. Punters will have the opportunity to enjoy all that Buller offers, a fully serviced township complete with bars, cafes, restaurants, plus ATP’s trademark rock 'n' roll trivia, cinema and 30+ bands performing over 3 stages.

In QLD ATP will present a series of one night stands between Jan 12th - 16th at the Brisbane Arts & Culture venue, The Powerhouse. In addition to this ATP will also present a larger afternoon/evening show on Jan 15th at the Brisbane River Stage, headlined by NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS.

In NSW, ATP will be held in conjunction with Sydney Festival on Cockatoo Island, presenting a one day program on Jan 17th, which will be repeated on Jan 18th. There will be 3 stages all with amazing views of the Harbour, a food court, bars, a Bad Seeds video display, chill-out areas and 20+ Bad Seeds handpicked performers.

The combination of ATP's unique concept and locations will ensure it is a festival goers favourite for years to come.
