Brisbane has joined in the Roman party with Melbourne in nailing up the Sold Out sign. With Sydney expected to sell out in the coming weeks as well the 2012 edition of Soundwave is proving to be the biggest and best yet!

The nation’s biggest metal festival has proudly completed yet another successful year. Whilst many other musical endeavors come and go, Soundwave has grown into its own and the celebration of pure metal goodness lives on.

Almost 200,000 guests nationally rolled through the gates, each on a mission with site maps and timetables in hand. The fans are not like the usual festival goer, they are in it for the pure love of music.

And by no means were the fans let down this year, the music and skills on show throughout the tour were all top-notch and the energy level of the bands were exceptional. With notable performances from festival headliners Iron Maiden, Queens Of The Stone Age, Primus, Slash, 30 Seconds To Mars and epic metallers The Sword.

The team from Monster Energy treated artists backstage to a good time with their Monster Bar. Drinks were flowing and spirits were high as bands were able to sit back, relax and take in the Soundwave atmosphere.

Official spirit Jim Beam ensured guests were enjoying their surrounds. The passionate and fun loving Jim Beam Party Crew ensured guests were watered and entertained in every city.

So Soundwave is over for another year and as the team at mixitup makes our way into the recovery zone, we are both satisfied and sad that this great festival is done for another year.

Having already spent substantial time, effort and treasure to make improvements to the venue – adding major shade structures, plumbing to enable the addition of hundreds of free water taps and coming up with foolproof traffic management regime, Soundwave Festival and the venue operators have jointly decided that we would rather unveil the new Eastern Creek when even more additional improvements and renovations have been completed.

We believe that the most important person in our business is not the artist, the venue or the promoter, but the concert‐goer who makes everything possible and we would rather not take the chance that we may not offer the perfect conditions.

As such this year’s event has been moved to the Sydney Showground, located at Sydney Olympic Park. All tickets are valid for the new location. Soundwave gratefully thanks the operators of the Sydney Showground who have gone above and beyond to make this move happen on short notice.
